<\/span>\n    <\/div>\n    <p class=\"body-large\">\n        Colgate University is a leading residential liberal arts college with a mission to provide an\r\neducational experience to develop wise, thoughtful, critical thinkers and perceptive leaders.\r\nHaving experienced many limitations after outgrowing its antiquated legacy CRM system, Colgate\r\nmade the switch and implemented Blackbaud Raiser\u2019s Edge NXT\u00ae to effectively reach and engage\r\ndonors and operate more efficiently. While implementing new technology can seem daunting, the\r\nteam at Colgate followed these three best practices to achieve a successful implementation.     <\/p>\n    <\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"wysiwyg wysiwyg-white white-bg\" id=\"wysiwyg-block_1aa2f5409abaa7f47314d5ccf17d4475\">\n            <h3>Assembling the Right Team<\/h3>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\nIT and advancement leveraged their close relationship to successfully purchase and implement Blackbaud Raiser\u2019s Edge NXT. They also established an implementation committee that represented impacted departments across campus. The project plan was agreed upon, and committee members listed their required solution functionality as well as how it would need to scale to meet growing needs. \u201cWe wanted a solution that would fit all our needs across campus\u2014from communications to advancement to development\u2014and were diligent in our process to secure users\u2019 buy-in before making our decision,\u201d said Bridget. Gaudreau, senior systems analyst and programmer. \u201cAfter evaluating<br \/>\nBlackbaud Raiser\u2019s Edge NXT, it was clear this is a cutting-edge solution that would provide our end-users much more than they had before.\u201d<\/p>\n    <\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"wysiwyg wysiwyg-white white-bg\" id=\"wysiwyg-block_00dc29aed9d1b971111755513df6a9ee\">\n            <h3>Taking a Collaborative Approach<\/h3>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\nLike most institutions, Colgate has unique complex data needs, so the team took a collaborative approach and brought in IT leaders to help consultants<br \/>\nmap data to the new system for a smooth implementation. The team made the implementation a priority, had the right people involved to ensure data<br \/>\nwas mapped accurately, and proactively helped end-users visualize how the database offers deeper insights and will help them achieve their goals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\nIn addition to sharing data across campus, the team addressed anything that campus partners accessed in the old system before taking it away. People were informed that they would be using a new solution and were given the<br \/>\nchance to provide feedback on what information or access they need. This<br \/>\nhelped generate goodwill and trust across campus and departments. \u201cBeing strong advocates for our data and taking a partnership approach helped lead to a very successful implementation,\u201d said Gaudreau. \u201cBy preventing future issues, we established goodwill and exposed areas where we had opportunities to leverage data sharing even more.\u201d<\/p>\n    <\/section>\n\n<section class=\"in-story-fact\" id=\"in-story-fact-block_8007ab1ede527431e333bd9b4d0a3b6c\">\n            <div class=\"in-story-fact__wrapper\">\n                    <div class=\"in-story-fact__item \">\n                <h3>\n                    <mark>300%<\/mark>\n                <\/h3>\n                <p class=\"body-large\">increase in user-adoption<\/p>\n            <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"wysiwyg wysiwyg-white white-bg\" id=\"wysiwyg-block_5dceb655e260a8dc0dab007faaeefc89\">\n            <h3>Culture of Change: Educating and Training Users<\/h3>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">Upgrading to a new CRM system doesn\u2019t occur often so it can be hard for<br \/>\npeople to adapt to this change. Educating their 100+ users and helping them understand how the new solution would provide them more opportunities was key. The team even removed access to the old system, making it a requirement for users to transition to the new system and ensuring users were accessing accurate and up-to-date information.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\nTo further help transition end-users, the team also leveraged change<br \/>\nmanagement support. A team of specialists coached users through the<br \/>\njourney and explained the present and future value the new CRM solution<br \/>\nwould bring them.<\/p>\n    <\/section>\n\n<section class=\"pull-quote pull-quote__top-bottom white-bg\" id=\"pull-quote-block_b68028b8ad75a69701b7176c63846dac\">\n    <div class=\"pull-quote__wrapper\">\n                <div class=\"pull-quote__wrapper-content\">\n            <div class=\"pull-quote__wrapper-quote\">\n                <h4 class=\"h5\">\u201cWe saw approximately a 300% increase in people using the system while out with prospects.
