their own unique events, saving staff hours of administrative\r\ntime while building a legitimate, trustworthy, and successful program.    <\/p>\n    <\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"wysiwyg wysiwyg-white white-bg\" id=\"wysiwyg-block_b86188e208fe044c7cc17b9251398351\">\n            <h3>With ease and versatility, Blackbaud solutions<br \/>\nempower hospital supporters through<br \/>\npeer-to-peer fundraising.<\/h3>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">Located in the heart of Ontario cottage country, Huntsville Hospital<br \/>\nFoundation was created to raise funds for hospital technology and equipment<br \/>\nnot covered by traditional means, such as taxes and government funds. With<br \/>\nvisits to Huntsville Hospital exploding between May and October, covering<br \/>\nthe cost of technology needed to support the volume of full-time and<br \/>\nseasonal patients requires a great deal of effort and community contributions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\nFoundation staff found themselves spending a substantial amount of time<br \/>\ntrying to grow peer-to-peer fundraising programs to empower community<br \/>\nmembers who wanted to enlist friends and families to give to the foundation.<br \/>\nHowever, the lack of an integrated third-party platform made for logistical<br \/>\nchallenges when attempting their first peer-to-peer fundraiser\u2014requiring<br \/>\ndonors to run the campaigns and collect funds themselves, then donate the<br \/>\nsum as an individual contributor. With competing priorities taking hold for the<br \/>\nsmall staff, it was clear the approach was not sustainable long term.<\/p>\n    <\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"wysiwyg wysiwyg-white white-bg\" id=\"wysiwyg-block_e7abdf4be7e1bf60cd4250376a53f5a3\">\n            <h3>Providing an Easy Solution for Everyone<\/h3>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">Finding a solution for peer-to-peer fundraising that offered ease of use,<br \/>\nlow-lift set-up, and a professional experience for donors would be key.<br \/>\nAfter hearing about JustGiving from Blackbaud through a webinar, Natasha<br \/>\nNieder, development associate at the foundation, realized it would be the<br \/>\nperfect solution to address their needs and volunteered the foundation to<br \/>\nbe a part of the early adopter program offered by Blackbaud in Canada.<br \/>\nThanks to the user-friendly interface and campaign creation guide, the<br \/>\nfoundation was able to integrate the peer-to-peer fundraising solution<br \/>\ninto their existing workflows with ease, only taking two weeks from start<br \/>\nto finish.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\nWith a seamless product implementation, staff at Huntsville Hospital<br \/>\nFoundation were quickly able to reduce the volume of administrative<br \/>\ntasks, allowing them to reclaim important time in their schedules.<br \/>\nNot only did JustGiving create efficiency for the foundation, it also<br \/>\nempowered some of their most dedicated supporters to launch successful<br \/>\npeer-to-peer campaigns in support of the hospital, and with impressive<br \/>\nresults. Two particularly successful campaigns came from members of<br \/>\nthe community who felt a personal connection to the cause.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\nTouched personally by the foundation\u2019s work, a local family set up a<br \/>\nmemorial page in honour of Janet Gambrell, who as per her own wishes,<br \/>\npassed away in her home supported by family and Huntsville Hospital\u2019s<br \/>\npalliative team. Through their JustGiving campaign, the Gambrell family<br \/>\nraised in excess of $22,000 to purchase a portable ultrasound machine<br \/>\nto help support the hospital\u2019s palliative patients\u2014this was the only piece<br \/>\nof equipment that had been missing in Janet\u2019s care. Purchasing the<br \/>\nportable ultrasound machine for the hospital was the Gambrell family\u2019s<br \/>\nway of celebrating Janet\u2019s life and honouring her wish to give back to<br \/>\nthe community she loved.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\nAnother local supporter and hospital volunteer felt inspired by the tireless<br \/>\nefforts of frontline healthcare workers during the pandemic and wanted<br \/>\nto give something back. Motivated to show his gratitude, he set up a<br \/>\n\u201cThank Our Healthcare Heroes\u201d campaign, raising more than $13,000 to<br \/>\npurchase food and comfort items for frontline hospital staff, including a<br \/>\nUV sterilizer for personal items to help keep them safe while on shift.<br \/>\nThe impact of peer-to-peer events shows no sign of waning, with<br \/>\nadvocates continuing to create unique and thoughtful campaigns,<br \/>\nlike the long-time supporter who planned a live music event at his<br \/>\ncottage overlooking the picturesque Lake of Bays, with proceeds in<br \/>\nsupport of \u201cour heroic caregivers.\u201d<\/p>\n    <\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"wysiwyg wysiwyg-white white-bg\" id=\"wysiwyg-block_5e620ac1ba15d25f7fb77c57c53be848\">\n            <h3>Opening the Door for Creativity<\/h3>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">With the success of the program so far, Huntsville Hospital Foundation<br \/>\nis excited for what peer-to-peer fundraisers can deliver in the future.<br \/>\n\u201cJustGiving from Blackbaud is a user-friendly, professional tool that helps<br \/>\nempower fundraisers in the community as they support the causes<br \/>\nthey care about,\u201d said Nieder.
