With Blackbaud Raiser\u2019s Edge NXT and supporting software, the historic institution\r\ndraws on powerful data, insights, workflows, and event-organizing tools to help fundraisers build\r\nimpactful relationships with donors. The results are clear, with the College receiving gifts from\r\nnearly 2,300 donors\u2014totaling $6.7 million\u2014around one day of giving.    <\/p>\n    <\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"wysiwyg wysiwyg-white white-bg\" id=\"wysiwyg-block_827e8f84e4c0522bf1273bb93eb6609b\">\n            <h3>CofC maximizes gift officers\u2019 potential<br \/>\nwith software built for their needs<\/h3>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">Founded in 1770 in South Carolina, the College of Charleston is a nationally recognized, public liberal arts and sciences university. To maintain its vision to be a transformative national university redefining liberal arts education through innovation, the College relies on Blackbaud Raiser\u2019s Edge NXT to maximize fundraising and build high-impact donor relationships.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">The robust dashboards and reporting within Raiser\u2019s Edge NXT help organizations better execute fundraising strategies and improve transparency across departments. At the College, the advancement services team creates custom dashboards for gift officers, giving them the ability to<br \/>\ntake more ownership of their portfolios.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">Previously, gift officers would have to manually run queries or keep an Excel spreadsheet of how they were progressing toward their goals. \u201cOur gift officers know exactly where they are to date with their goals and what metrics are being used to measure their success,\u201d said Jenny Alstad, director<br \/>\nof prospect management and research. \u201cIt empowers the gift officers to really know their portfolios and make sure they\u2019re focused on who they\u2019re soliciting and the pace they\u2019re moving donors through the cultivation process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">Having these insights and dashboards has been a huge time savings for both gift officers and the advancement services team. Gift officers no longer need to rely on advancement services to run a query or pull a list. The gift officers can deep dive into the analytics themselves. \u201cIt gives them good autonomy because it\u2019s available on demand,\u201d Alstad said. \u201cGift officers don\u2019t have to wait on us to produce these lists and reports. Lindsey Copeland, senior director of<br \/>\nanalytics and database management, used to pull lists constantly for as<br \/>\nmany as 10 different divisions. \u201cRaiser\u2019s Edge NXT is a huge help and saves<br \/>\nme so much time,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\nAnnual leadership gift officers utilize the workflow process in Raiser\u2019s Edge<br \/>\nNXT to help create cadences for communication and solicitation, \u201cwhich<br \/>\nhelps them stay on track of their 30-, 60-, and 90-day communication<br \/>\nstrategy,\u201d said Laurie Soenen, executive director of advancement services.<br \/>\n\u201cThey also relied on these workflows to support their stewardship efforts.<br \/>\nIf a gift had been made or a donor had a birthday, they were notified to<br \/>\nengage and connect with those donors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\nCofC also draws on Blackbaud\u2019s ResearchPoint\u2122, which combines the<br \/>\nindustry\u2019s best, most comprehensive individual wealth and philanthropic<br \/>\ninsight to drive results. \u201cWe use ResearchPoint to lead our entire prospect<br \/>\nmanagement strategy,\u201d said Copeland. \u201cIt\u2019s been essential for how we<br \/>\nprioritize our large database and portfolios.\u201d Once a gift officer\u2019s portfolio<br \/>\nhas been populated, the team also uses the insights to help guide their ask<br \/>\namounts and donor engagement strategies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\nRaiser\u2019s Edge NXT event management and follow-up tools\u2014complete with<br \/>\nregistration, payments, custom participant information, email and more\u2014<br \/>\nmake preparing for any event seamless. Leveraging Raiser\u2019s Edge NXT, gift officers prepared and rallied support from donors and tracked and monitored gifts leading up to the day.<br \/>\nThe fundraising team created a custom insight tied to proposals and opportunities to track gifts and used Raiser\u2019s Edge NXT\u2019s Insight Designer as a reporting tool. Soenen explained that gift officers used the data to have<br \/>\nconversations with donors about how they wanted to support the day and would enter proposals linked to the giving day. This gave everyone visibility into the progress made ahead of the day. Once all the gifts were processed,<br \/>\nthe team used Raiser\u2019s Edge NXT to determine how much was raised.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\u201cDeveloping an innovative process to track the
