The day focuses on giving back to our communities by displaying acts of kindness and service to everyone.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align:center;\"><span><em>&ldquo;<\/em><\/span><span><em>Everybody can be great because everybody can serve.&rdquo;<\/em>&nbsp;<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><span><strong>Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In the U.S., Blackbaud employees were given the day off in observance of MLK Day, but<\/span><span> we encouraged our employees to volunteer in their communities with a &ldquo;day on, not a day off.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/span><span>In honor of this, many employees engaged in service opportunities, including some of our Charleston employees who participated&nbsp;in the local MLK Day Parade with their families.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.blackbaud.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/mlkparade2023.png\" style=\"display:block;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto;\" alt=\"Blackbaud employees and their families participate in Charleston MLK Day Parade\" class=\"-align-center\" sf-size=\"3982708\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span>In addition, other&nbsp;MLK Day service project ideas we shared with our employees included:&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nike.com\/sustainability\"><span>Reuse-a-Shoe<\/span><\/a><\/span><span> &#8211; Recycle old athletic shoes through Nike&#8217;s sustainability program to help repurpose old shoes into sports surfaces like running tracks, baseball fields, and basketball courts.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><a href=\"https:\/\/transcription.si.edu\/\"><span>Smithsonian Digital Volunteer<\/span><\/a><\/span><span> &#8211; Volunteer to transcribe historical documents.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.civilrightsmuseum.org\/\"><span>National Civil Rights Museum<\/span><\/a><\/span><span> &#8211; Get involved in your local historical society.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pointsoflight.org\/resources\/?resource-type=diy-project\"><span>Resources | Points of Light Toolkits, Reports and More<\/span><\/a><\/span><span> &ndash; View tons of service project ideas!&nbsp;<\/span><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>At Blackbaud, we&rsquo;re 100% focused on the social good community year-round through our work, but there is something powerful that happens when we break away from our day-to-day routines to serve others.
