class=\"body-large\">\n        The Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) envisions a world where the impact of disasters is\r\nminimized by thoughtful, equitable, and responsible recovery for all. To work toward this vision,\r\nCDP uses Blackbaud Grantmaking to manage its entire grant cycle, maximizing its effectiveness\r\nand impact, with a 360-degree view of every touchpoint with their grantees. As a result,\r\nCDP has increased productivity, improved storytelling, and met global compliance\r\nrequirements more easily    <\/p>\n    <\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"wysiwyg wysiwyg-white white-bg\" id=\"wysiwyg-block_9ebcc5a1655885ca3f3b7b7919e37ac1\">\n            <h3>CDP makes game-changing leap<br \/>\nwith purpose-built software<\/h3>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">Since 2010, the Center for Disaster Philanthropy has been mobilizing<br \/>\nphilanthropy to strengthen the ability of communities to withstand<br \/>\ndisasters and recover equitably. Prior to adopting Blackbaud Grantmaking,<br \/>\nCDP managed its grantmaking workflow through various manual methods,<br \/>\nsuch as email, spreadsheets, and even pen and paper. The software provides<br \/>\nthe development team an easily digestible summary of the impact CDP<br \/>\nhas made. \u201cWe use the information in Blackbaud Grantmaking in a way<br \/>\nthat allows us to tell the story to our donors that is very meaningful and<br \/>\nconnects them better with our mission,\u201d said Sonja Pagniano,<br \/>\ndevelopment manager.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">The development team and staff previously depended on a blog to know<br \/>\nwhich grants were approved and closed, but the timing of the posts was<br \/>\ninconsistent. \u201cAutomating these reports has been a huge game-changer<br \/>\nfor the development team,\u201d said Pagniano. \u201cWe get a good high-level<br \/>\noverview, and if we have a meeting with a donor that week, we can already<br \/>\nshare the impact they\u2019re making instead of us waiting two to three months<br \/>\nto get that information like we had to in the past.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">The ability to sign in to Blackbaud Grantmaking from any device, anywhere,<br \/>\nempowers development officers with important grant management<br \/>\ninformation they can share anytime, including visits with donors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\n\u201cWe can show the diversity of the impact we\u2019re making by having the data<br \/>\nabout what other grants were closed,\u201d Pagniano said. \u201cA grant might not<br \/>\ndirectly tie to the gift that a donor made, but it relates to our mission and<br \/>\nthe equitable impact we\u2019re trying to make, so we can still leverage those<br \/>\nstories and steward that donor and their support even further.&#8221;<\/p>\n    <\/section>\n\n<section class=\"pull-quote pull-quote__top-bottom white-bg\" id=\"pull-quote-block_331f00bd5a2ba6b8605d24487cd03f6b\">\n    <div class=\"pull-quote__wrapper\">\n                <div class=\"pull-quote__wrapper-content\">\n            <div class=\"pull-quote__wrapper-quote\">\n                <h4 class=\"h5\">\u201cOur chief executive asked if I could provide a list of all the grants awarded in the past two years, including the locations, and I was able to easily pull a report based on the code I created. They focused<br \/>\non trust-based and equitable grantmaking and \u201cwhat does that look like<br \/>\nat CDP\u201d in the context of communities in crisis after disasters. Blackbaud<br \/>\nGrantmaking enabled CDP to more intentionally support local actors by<br \/>\nstreamlining their internal process for allocating grants to non-U.S. based<br \/>\n501c3 organizations. Of the 117 grants totaling $28.2 million CDP awarded<br \/>\nin 2022, 60 were domestic and 57 were international.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\n\u201cBlackbaud Grantmaking allows us to be flexible when executing due<br \/>\ndiligence and compliance with regard to organizations submitting<br \/>\napplications,\u201d Kidwell said. \u201cWe can also reduce the burden on our grantee<br \/>\npartners by uploading any required \u2018about the organization\u2019 information we<br \/>\nfind into the system. This saves our partners time and improves the<br \/>\ngrantee experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\nOrganizations leveraging Blackbaud Grantmaking can verify tax status<br \/>\nthrough native integration with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS),<br \/>\nGuideStar, and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) easily within the<br \/>\nsoftware. CDP is required to check organizations against OFAC, and because<br \/>\nthis capability is built into Blackbaud Grantmaking, they no longer manually<br \/>\nrun these checks. \u201cIt\u2019s one click and done\u2014a huge timesaver for our staff,\u201d<br \/>\nKidwell said. \u201cWe really appreciate the recordkeeping because now we can<br \/>\nactually show proof that we ran a check and that it came back clear.\u201d<\/p>\n    <\/section>\n\n<section class=\"pull-quote pull-quote__top-bottom white-bg\" id=\"pull-quote-block_433cfa83eeb17dedcda7560bab553de4\">\n    <div class=\"pull-quote__wrapper\">\n                <div class=\"pull-quote__wrapper-content\">\n            <div class=\"pull-quote__wrapper-quote\">\n                <h4 class=\"h5\">\u201cIt\u2019s one click and done\u2014a huge timesaver for our staff.\u201d<\/h4>\n            <\/div>\n            <div class=\"pull-quote__wrapper-name\">\n                Audrey Kidwell            <\/div>\n                            <div class=\"pull-quote__wrapper-role\">\n                    Grants Manager                <\/div>\n                                        <div class=\"pull-quote__wrapper-organization\">\n                    CDP                <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"wysiwyg wysiwyg-white white-bg\" id=\"wysiwyg-block_d1bc8fcadef63d424de7f9b5b438cabb\">\n            <h3>Saving Time, Not Wasting Time<\/h3>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">CDP previously had applications and information coming from different<br \/>\nplaces, including mail and CDP\u2019s server, but with Blackbaud Grantmaking<br \/>\nthey established a more streamlined setup that also allows multiple grant<br \/>\napplication reviewers to collaborate efficiently in real-time using the<br \/>\nreviewer portal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\n\u201cAll our grantmaking and due diligence paperwork is now in one central<br \/>\nplace, and you know it\u2019s uniform label,\u201d Kidwell said. \u201cWe have two to three<br \/>\npeople review directly within the system, and they don\u2019t have to waste time<br \/>\ntrying to find the information they need. Makes reviewing applications much<br \/>\nmore efficient.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\nWhile implementing Blackbaud Grantmaking, Blackbaud services team<br \/>\nimported all of CDP\u2019s grants from the past 10 years. By having this<br \/>\ninformation housed in the software, staff can now look at 10 years\u2019 worth<br \/>\nof data\u2014such as locations or types of populations served\u2014and generate<br \/>\ncustom reports to inform future grantmaking decisions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-medium\">\n\u201cOur chief executive asked if I could provide a list of all the grants awarded<br \/>\nin the past two
