Blackbaud is proud to\u00a0celebrate\u00a0today’s\u00a0monumental opening of the\u00a0<\/span>International African American M<\/span>useum<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0(IAAM) in Charleston, S.C. Built on the site of one of America\u2019s most prolific international slave trading ports, the museum aims to re-center South Carolina\u2019s place in global history and honor the largely overlooked history of the African American community. This is a meaningful moment\u2014the culmination of a years-long endeavor to bring untold African American stories to light.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

In 2016, Blackbaud made its first-ever $1 million pledge<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>to support the construction of the\u00a0<\/span>museum\u00a0<\/span>in Charleston,\u00a0also home to our Blackbaud headquarters.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>The\u00a0<\/span>contribution will specifically support the\u00a0<\/span>IAAM Center for Family History<\/span><\/span><\/a>, a volunteer-run digital research lab within the museum that allows in-person and virtual visitors to trace their family origins, research their ancestry, and record their own stories.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
